CBSE Class 10 exams canceled, 12th postponed: Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank told TV on Wednesday that there will be no Class 10 CBSE board exams this year and students will campaign on Wednesday based on internal assessment. He said the government had postponed the Class 12 exams till May 30. The Board will release the revised schedule for Class 12 Board Examinations on June 1.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The meeting was attended by Education Secretary Pokhriyal and other government officials.

As per the previous schedule, the CBSE board exams for 10th and 12th were held from May 4 to June 7 and the results are likely to be announced by July.
The decision was taken in view of the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country. The worst-hit states are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. While registering steady growth for the 35th day in a row, India registered 1,84,372 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 1,38,73,825 and the number of active cases crossing 13 lakh.
